Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This Privacy Policy explains what information Taorluath collects when you visit the website, purchase a licence, or use the Software, and how that information is used and protected.
1. What we collect
- Email address, provided during purchase and used for licence activation and support.
- Licence data, including activation key, tier, status, and expiration information.
- Account and admin data, where applicable, for internally managed accounts created by administrators.
- Technical data, including IP address, browser type, device information, and basic usage logs.
The Software itself stores your scores locally on your device. Taorluath does not collect or transmit the content of your compositions.
2. How we use it
- To deliver and validate your licence key.
- To authenticate access to the Software.
- To maintain system security and prevent unauthorised use or abuse.
- To provide customer support and respond to enquiries.
- To improve reliability, performance, and functionality of the service.
3. Cookies and local storage
Taorluath may use cookies and local storage to maintain sessions, store preferences, and improve performance. These are small data files stored on your device. You can disable cookies in your browser, but some features may not function correctly.
4. Where data is stored
Licence and user-related data is stored using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore). Some operational logs may be stored on secure server infrastructure used to run the service.
A local file called license.json may be stored on your device to verify activation. This file does not grant or bypass licence rights. Modifying it may prevent the Software from working correctly and does not affect server-side validation.
5. How we share data
Taorluath does not sell or rent personal data.
Data may only be shared with:
- Service providers such as Firebase for storage and authentication.
- Security tools used to detect fraud, abuse, or system attacks.
- Legal authorities if required to comply with applicable law.
6. Data retention
- Licence records are retained while a licence remains active and for reasonable support and legal purposes thereafter.
- Technical logs may be retained for a limited period for security and diagnostics.
- Deleted accounts or revoked licences may be removed or anonymised where appropriate.
7. Data security
Taorluath uses reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted administrative access, and secure backend services.
However, no system can be guaranteed to be fully secure, and users acknowledge this inherent risk when using online services.
8. User rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including access, correction, deletion, and restriction of processing.
Requests can be submitted via the contact details provided below.
9. International data handling
Data may be processed or stored in servers located outside your country of residence. Where this occurs, reasonable safeguards are applied to protect your information.
10. Children’s privacy
Taorluath is not intended for users under the age of 13 (or equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If such data is discovered, it will be removed promptly.
11. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes to the Software, legal requirements, or operational practices. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date.
