Terms of Service
Last updated:
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Taorluath software ("Software"), related services, and this website. By purchasing a licence, activating the Software, or otherwise using the system, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Software or website.
1. Definitions
- Software refers to the Taorluath application, including updates and patches.
- Licence refers to a purchased right to use the Software under defined conditions.
- Activation Key refers to a unique code issued to validate a Licence.
- User refers to any individual who accesses or uses the Software or website.
2. Licence grant
Upon purchase, Taorluath grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Software strictly in accordance with these Terms.
Each Activation Key:
- Is issued to a single purchaser email address.
- May only be activated once unless explicitly reissued by an administrator.
- Is bound to the licence tier purchased (6-month, 12-month, or Lifetime).
Licence duration rules:
- 6-month licence: expires 6 months after activation.
- 12-month licence: expires 12 months after activation.
- Lifetime licence: remains valid indefinitely, subject to compliance with these Terms.
3. Activation system
Activation requires a valid email address matching purchase records and a valid Activation Key. The system validates these against server-side records.
If credentials do not match or appear suspicious, the licence may be:
- Temporarily suspended
- Placed under manual review
- Permanently revoked in cases of fraud or abuse
4. Account integrity and security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Activation Key and associated email. Any unauthorised use of your licence is your responsibility unless you have formally reported the compromise.
We reserve the right to enforce security measures including IP monitoring, activation tracking, and device validation to prevent abuse.
5. Distribution and third-party usage
This includes but is not limited to:
- Sharing keys with friends, band members, students, or organisations
- Installing the Software on multiple users’ machines under a single licence
- Reselling or redistributing activation keys in any form
If you require multi-user deployment, classroom use, organisational licensing, or redistribution, you must obtain a Distribution Licence from Distribution.
Non-commercial or educational use cases may be eligible for a Limited Distribution Licence upon request. Requests should be directed to [email protected] and are granted at the sole discretion of Taorluath.
6. Acceptable use policy
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except where legally permitted.
- Bypass or attempt to bypass activation or licensing mechanisms.
- Interfere with, modify, or disrupt system integrity or security.
- Use the Software for unlawful, abusive, or harmful purposes.
- Exploit vulnerabilities to gain unauthorised access or privileges.
7. Payments and refunds
All purchases are processed as digital goods. Due to the immediate nature of licence delivery and activation, all sales are final once a key has been activated.
Refunds may be considered only in exceptional circumstances such as:
- Duplicate purchases
- Non-functional licence keys prior to activation
- Verified technical failure preventing activation
Refund requests must be submitted via email and are not guaranteed.
8. Licence revocation and termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any licence without prior notice if:
- These Terms are violated
- Fraudulent activity is detected
- Security risks are identified
- Licences are improperly distributed or shared
Revoked licences may be reviewed and reinstated at our discretion.
9. Updates and modifications
The Software may receive updates, patches, or modifications at any time. Continued use of the Software implies acceptance of such updates.
We may also modify these Terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Intellectual property
All rights, title, and interest in the Software, including code, design, branding, and documentation, remain the exclusive property of Taorluath and its creator.
No ownership rights are transferred to users under these Terms.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
The Software is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Taorluath shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or business interruption.
In all cases, liability is limited to the amount paid for the licence, if applicable.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which Taorluath operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
15. Entire agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Taorluath regarding use of the Software and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
